Thank you for your interest in becoming a vendor at the Catonsville Farmers Market. Please note, this is a food and flower market only. No Arts or crafts items are permitted.

Market’s Operating Rules

The Catonsville Farmers Market Manager is Cindy Yingling.

A.  Purpose: The purpose of the Market is to support small, local farmers in their efforts to provide the community with fresh, sustainably grown vegetables, fruits and berries, meats and poultry, dairy products, honey, breads and sweets, flowers and plants, and specialty items and events.  In an effort to support all of the community, the Market offers gleaning opportunities to local Food Banks as well as financial support.  Some vendors accept FMNP (WIC & Senior) and FVC (fruit & veg checks).

B.  Vendor Participant Process: Market vendors must be 18 years or older.  Participants must submit a Vendor Information Application each season. The Market Manager will notify you of acceptance or rejection by email.

There is no application deadline, new vendors will be considered for acceptance throughout the season. Preference given to past participants in good standing and vendors who will enhance the variety of the market.

C.  Market Location: The market is located at 5820 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville. Located Christian Temple Parking Lot

D.  Market Hours: Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Vendors must be ready for business at 9:00 AM, set up, and must remain open for business until 12:00 PM.

E.  Market Season: The Market will operate year round.

G.  Vendor Booths: All vendors are required to bring their own canopy tent and stall set up as needed. Stall spaces are 10’ x 10’. Full-time vendors will be assigned a permanent stall space for the season.

Half-Season and Weekly vendors will be assigned a space by the Market Manager.  Reasonable efforts will be made to keep these spots at a consistent location.

Vendors may not sub-lease, sell, transfer, or permit any other seller to use the assigned market space.

If vendors are not at their assigned stall by 8:30 without proper communication to the Market Manager, the space may be given to another vendor.

Booth Signs: Farmers and vendors are required to display a sign identifying the name and location of their business.

Any additional signage mandated by State, Federal regulation or required by the market must be displayed appropriately at the vendors booth during operating hours.

Signage required by the market includes but not limited to Organic, Certified naturally Grown, Gluten Free, Pasture raised, Free Range and any other claims made by the producer or grower of their products. Failure to properly identify products with proper signage will be considered a violation of market rules.

H.  Market Sales Permitted:  This is a “producer only” market.  All agricultural, horticultural, dairy, egg, meat, and fish products sold at the Market must be grown or raised by the farmer.

Resale Permissions:  Resale of farm items produced by other local growers must be pre-approved by the Market Manager. Such special items will be clearly indicated with their source. Occasional or special participants may be included  at the discretion of the Market Manager. Resale without pre-approval will be considered a violation of market rules.

I.  Applicable laws, regulations, and permits: Farmers and vendors agree to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations. It is the sole responsibility of vendors to obtain and display (if required) any and all necessary licenses, permits, and provide documentation of such compliance. Insurance is required as outlined in Vendor Information.

J.  Market set-up: Set up begins on Wednesday at 7:00 AM, and selling begins at exactly 9:00 AM. No sales are allowed before 9:00 am.

K.  Vendor Responsibilities: A list of duties for opening and closing the market will be generated. Vendors are expected to participate in the responsibilities of setting up and breaking down the market. All vendors are responsible for removing any trash or debris they generate during the market. Any vendors leaving trash or other debris that need to be picked up by the market will incur a $25.00 fine per occurrence. This must be paid prior to the next market, or the vendor will be considered in breach of contract and will not be allowed to set up for the market.

L.  Absences: Farmers and vendors are expected to set up and sell on all market days for which they contract.  If absence or tardiness is unavoidable, please inform the Market Manager: Cindy Yingling at csmkt@verizon.net

M.  Product Labeling: All vendors must adhere to Federal, State, and Local labeling regulations. Vendors must clearly mark the cost of all items being sold.

N.  Vendor Responsibilities for Booth/Space Rented: Farmers and vendors are required to maintain their stands in a neat, attractive, and orderly fashion. Vendors must clean up their space assignments after market. Unless dismissed early by the Market Manager due to inclement weather or emergency, tear down will not begin until 12:00. Please be considerate of the other vendors. Tearing down early is subject to violation and dismissal from the market.

O.  Weather Policy: The market is held rain or shine. In the event of a hazardous forecast, the Market Manager will make a decision as to whether to cancel the market. The decision will be communicated as soon as possible via email. Vendors are responsible for checking their messages and remaining up to date on market status. Due to insurance liability and the priority of keeping vendors and customers safe, vendors are not permitted to set up and sell when the market is cancelled

P.  Safety: Farmers and vendors are required to operate their stands in a safe manner and are required to make immediate safety changes when directed to do so by the Market Manager. All awnings, canopies, and pop-up tents must be secured with weights for safety.

Q.  NO SMOKING on the Market property.

R.  Farm Visits:  Market Manager may arrange visits to vendor’s farms throughout the season. New vendors may be required to have a farm visit prior to start of market season.

S.  Musicians: We are very fortunate to have wonderful local musicians who generously donate their Wednesday mornings to play for the market. Please support their vital participation in the market with a cash donation or product from your market inventory.

T.  Gleaners: The market welcomes gleaners from the local Food Bank throughout the season. Please support their efforts to provide fresh local food to our community.

U.  Vendors are not permitted to bring firearms, illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages, or pets (with the exception of service animals) to the market.

V.  Violation of market rules will be met with a written warning from the Market Manager. Three violations will result in dismissal of the vendor from the market without reimbursement of market rent.

W.  Grievances:  Any complaints or grievances must be directed to the attention of the Market Manager in writing via email or letter.

X.  Insurance:   Hereford Farm Market does not provide insurance to vendors and participants of the market. Upon acceptance, all vendors must submit a copy of your insurance certificate, with: Catonsville Farmers Market – 4464 Glenville road Glen Rock, PA 17327 named as a certificate holder.

Your Agreement to Hold the Catonsville Farmers Market Harmless

1.  The request to reserve a vendor space constitutes a contractual agreement between you, the Vendor, and The Catonsville Farmers Market

2.  With respect to the Catonsville Farmers Market and its activities, the undersigned will always indemnify and hold harmless the Catonsville Farmers Market, the property owners of the Market site, future property Owners and its managers from and against all claims, damages or liabilities and any other costs and expenses.

3.  The Catonsville Farmers Market does not provide insurance to participants of the Market. It is required that each vendor obtain their own insurance as required.

4. By signing this agreement, you agree to the Operating Rules, Fees, Terms and Conditions and Guidelines as described above.
